UbiCOMP takes part in a national programme funded by The Polish Ministry of Education and Science Studenckie Koła Naukowe Tworzą Innowacje where our club is carrying out the project Multimodal System Supporting Remote Cooperation in Industrial Environment.
Under the project, we investigate how incorporating augmented reality and various bio-sensors into industry workers’ equipment can bring closer the vision of Industry 4.0.
We designed a system consisting of AR headset, wearable EEG, EMG armband and a smartwatch measuring different bio-metrics and tested it in semi-industrial settings. We are currently conducting a study comparing different augmentations of remote collaboration in industrial tomography laboratory.
Moreover, we investigated how the companion of a drone could help the worker to map the location and increase awareness of potential threats.
To this end, activities performed throughout the project have been a subject of application of European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation – EUROINVENT where our inventions were awarded with 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals. You can read more about the inventions here.
The study, that we are currently conducting will be analysed and submitted in the form of a research article on international conference in the field of HCI.
